The open credits have ended, the scene begins with an action setting. The group of men are running for their lives, 4 white men and 1 Black man.
The troubled group find themselves cornered. They scurry to a small opening in the cave, and before a valiant attempt could be made, “Slash!“. The Black character is struck down, his death came quick! Not even 10 minutes into the movie.
It is almost the given in most action and horror movies. The spoken rule, that is openly discussed amongst “Black” Americans and the movie industry.
Even Black “A-List” actors are not safe from the proverbial “Chop!“.

Then there are the Heroin movies. The cast are primarily white with a disproportionate number of Melanin Rich characters. These movies will feature some world ending calamity or social destruction, where the white man or woman, “saves the day“. Yes, the white savior.

When there is a Black Heroin, he is; a homeless-drunk, the Spawn of the Devil or an “Undead” Day-Walker. He is more times over, created with massive character flaws.
To be fair, in the most recent Superhero movies, a lot of the known white superheroes have been cast with “Black” actors. A generous move to say the least.

One could ask, Why would a white writer, write a fantastical heroic movie about a black heroin in a predominantly melanin rich metropolis?
Where in that story could he/she relate?

So when a story is written about the riches, technologically advanced Nation in the world, led by, one of the world’s most intelligent minds, in a fictitious, secretly located area in Africa, one would expect such an epic story to be created by a Black man, right? Wrong.

T'Challa: Black Panther

T’Challa: Black Panther

The story of The Black Panther was a joint creation of Marvel’s Jack Kirby and Stan Lee (1966). This would be the first Black Superhero in a mainstream American comic. Everything about the Black Panther was original and unique from it’s back story to origin.

The creation of The Black Panther had no correlation with The Black Panther Party, which formed the same year (1966).

Black Panther quickly became a relevant character and superhero in the Marvel Universe, so how could anyone other than a Black man write such a progressive story and character?

T’Challa, a prince, who had risen to King (after the assassination of his father, T’Chaka, former King and Black Panther) of one of the most powerful nations (Wakanda: fictitious Kingdom in Africa) that operated in stealth in the continent of Africa. He would rank as one of the top 5 greatest minds in the world and considered an elite superhero, even defeating America’s Hero, Captain America.

Captain America Is Defeated By The Black Panther during An Invasion Of His Homeland, Wakanda.

Captain America Is Defeated By The Black Panther During An Invasion Of His Homeland, Wakanda.

Yet, this awe inspiring story was not the creation of a Black man.

The entertainment industry have been profiting quite handsomely for several years now off of many Comic Heroes and stories.
As mentioned, some of these stories have been altered (for self – creativity and progressive direction), at times, these changes have disappointed the loyal Comic Community and others have accepted it. From minor alterations to bolder decisions, there has been plenty of room made to constantly invoke new ideas.

Such as the direction, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige had taken when hiring director Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station and Creed) on-board.

Director: Ryan Coogler Fruitville Station And Creed

Director: Ryan Coogler
Fruitvale Station And Creed

Marvel explains that Black Panther will be one of the last superhero characters to get their own stand-alone film. Feige also admits that, “He’s [Black Panther] important” to the future of the Marvel Universe.
In addition to Coolger directing the film, Feige announces that Black Panther would be the first Marvel film to feature a majority black cast, with Chadwick Boseman (42) already casts’ as Black Panther.

“It was important they remained faithful to the comic and the character’s origins”, shared Feige.

For all Marvel fans, comic/action movie enthusiasts and Melaninated People this should be promising and exciting.

One would be curious to, Captain America star, Anthony Mackie‘s thoughts on the decisions and directions of Marvel’s selection of Ryan Coogler, as director. The actor made a statement saying, “The race of the director shouldn’t factor into the decision.

I don’t think it’s important at all (having a Black Director)”, Mackie expresses. “As a director your job is to tell a story. You know, they didn’t get a horse to direct ‘Seabiscuit!’…
Comments like these weigh heavily in the Melanin community especially when, at times, they seem slighted against a shared race. Many times the vocal party would be labeled “cooning“.

What are your thoughts?

Black Panther is scheduled to be released on Feb. 16, 2018.

Why Is My Orange Green?
In order for one to understand “why“, one must recognize Hybridization and be able to date this practice to ages ago.
Procedures such as Crossbreeding and Hybridizing was the practice of creating new plants and animals from two or more different wild species. The new species carried the characteristics of it’s dissimilar parents, yet was unique. This enabled cultivation and control by creating or domesticating various plant and animal life. This would allow for the new species to survive in regions and various conditions that the parents could not.
For example; Wheat, what we know as wheat was hybridized. Wheat was the result of rural growth. Plant life could not thrive in this environment, and with the growth of the population, there was a demand for a “food” source that could aid in the supply, providing for the populations.
This concept may confuse, anger and frighten many. Especially when one must confront the fact that many of the foods in which we consume today, were created…”Yesterday“, such as carrots or bananas. Bananas, the fruit that has become familiar in America, is less than 60years old.

When trying to identify plants, one must understand three of the main Characteristics Of A Plant:

"All Real Seeds Are Black"

“All Real Seeds Are Black”

  1. Seeds (All Real Seeds Are Black)
  2. Roots
  3. Leaves/Fruit

Without these characteristics there cannot be (consistent) natural growth.

Some common hybrid fruits are: seedless apples, several date varieties like kiwis, seedless pineapples, seedless citrus fruit, seedless grapes, seedless persimmons, seedless watermelons and strawberries.

  • Common hybrid vegetables include: beets, carrots, corn, potatoes, celery, and cauliflower.
  • Common hybrid nuts, seeds and beans include: cashews, oats, rice, wheat, wheat grass, soy, legumes, and most beans.
  • Common hybrid herbs include: Goldenseal, Ginseng, Echinacea, Chamomile, DonQuay, Aloe Vera, Nut Meg, Comfrey and Garlic.

Hybrid List

Food is medicine, which is why it is important to understand what hybrid foods are and to be able to identify them. These changes and manipulations result in the loss of it’s proper mineral balance (Molecular structure) that wild foods contain. Therefore, when one consumes an ample amount of hybrid fruit, the body becomes deficient of minerals, compounded by high, unnatural sugar and starch content. These changes forces the body to absorb the minerals from the bones, into the blood to balance/neutralize the sugar, and none of this is healthy for the liver and pancreas.

Are All Hybrid Foods Unhealthy?

If an animal or plant is unable to reproduce (without artificial help), by definition, that creature is Unhealthy. When one consumes that element, at best, macronutrients are absorbed, but micronutrients are lost.

For instance, plants that grow in depleted soil with chemical fertilizers would not contain all the minerals and phytonutrients, they would normally receive in the wild. They would also be exposed to far less stress, therefore, less hormesis happens, and the plant synthesizes antioxidants along with other micronutrients.

Who Was James Marion Sims?

He was revered as the pioneer of gynecological surgery, instruments and procedures. Ideally, this monster, was considered “The Father Of Gynecology“. Any significant contributions should be demeaned by his heinous practices.

In 1845, Sims opened a private hospital for women in Montgomery, Alabama. Slave women were brought to Sims, many ailing, to treat and study one of the most common problems; Vesicovaginal Fistulas—a condition often caused by prolonged childbirth. From this a hole forms in between the bladder or rectum and the vagina. The tear causes urine and feces to pool in the vagina, creating infections, pain, and incontinence. Fixing it required a doctor to be able to look into the vaginal canal.

Sims was eager to develop a way to surgically seal up the hole, and saw great (inhumane) benefits using slave women as test subjects. It was from these procedures and incidents that the Speculum was thought of and created. The idea for the Speculum came to Sims while treating a white woman patient. The woman was thrown from a horse and suffered injuries to her uterus. It was recorded that after he helped the woman “reposition her uterus”, he had an epiphany. He bought several slave women for the purpose of study and experiments, and that day used a slave, having her lie on her back with her legs up, and inserted the bent handle of a “Pewter Spoon” into her vagina. This “invention” allowed Sims to start performing surgery on the fistulas. He became successful in developing a method for sealing them. Unfortunately, he performed all of his experimental procedures, on the Afrikan women, without anesthesia, forcing pain and often death upon them.

Today’s “modern” speculum is based on the use of a bent gravy spoon. The irony is that Sims didn’t want to have to look at a woman’s genitals.

“If there was anything I hated, it was investigating the organs of the female pelvis.”

It Was Through The Sacrifice And Pain Of Many Afrikan Women, That Crude Instruments And Procedures Where Performed.

It Was Through The Sacrifice And Pain Of Many Afrikan Women, That Crude Instruments And Procedures Where Performed.

Sims’ performed extremely unethical and barbaric experiments on enslaved Afrikan women. Many times with crude and tortuous instruments. His actions of torture led to many deaths or maimed women. Sims would justify his behavior by trying to reason that

“Slave women were able to bear great pain…”, unanesthetized, “because their race made them more durable and thus, they were well suited for painful medical experimentation.”

As we approach the month of February. The month where Afrikans/Melaninated people’s history is reduced to “28days“, for 28days Black Americans are to remind themselves of the many marvelous accomplishments of African and Black Americans, during and post slavery.

Understand that many inventions and accomplishments were stolen or hidden. Therefore, one must never forget and at times reflect on those that sought to destroy, demoralize and silence “Black Power“!

James Marion Sims are one of the many. His legacy is a lie, his actions…unforgivable!

Where does one begin?

As American as Apple Pie“? No. That would not fit here, because America, at least for the past week, has shown that Sweet Potato Pie is the new icon.

Since James Wright's review went viral, Walmart sold one pie per second for 72hours straight last weekend.

Since James Wright’s review went viral, Walmart sold one pie per second for 72hours straight last weekend.

Since Walmart’s release of the celebrity endorsed Sweet Potato Pie, sales were good, but it was not until the publication of a Video Review, produced by James Wright, on YouTube that within 24 hours after the video was posted on November 12, 2015, “sales data was showing a nationwide surge in pie purchases“, shared Walmart spokesman John Forrest Ales.
Due to the popularity Walmart had worked to restock it’s sweet potato pies after the viral video caused a massive surge in demand across the country.

The pie retails for $3.48. The viral video, made by now popular pitchman, James Wright, can possibly take responsibility for aiding in inflated sales of pies on eBay, recorded as much as $40!

Make no mistake, this is not an article looking to add to the hype, but to point out important perspectives and call out a wrong on Pattie Labelle‘s part.

Recently #TMZ’s cameraman catches Patti Labelle before entering a building and asks her about her success with her, endorsed, Sweet Potato Pie sales due to James Wright’s viral video review…

Patti Labelle adamantly takes full credit for the over a million dollars sales spike in less than a week, despite James Wright’s video review popularity.

I did it myself“, Patti affirms.

I was selling out pies before the guy did his wonderful video“, Patti explains.

Patti Labelle was able to express her regards for Mr. Wright’s singing ability and potential in that area.

He’s a wonderful singer and he’s just a wonderful guy”, she said.

Since James’ review went viral, Walmart sold one pie per second for 72 hours straight last weekend.
So did Patti really, “do it herself“? Clearly Patti is exaggerating and disregarding the power of “word of mouth” and more importantly, Black Purchase Power.

In 2013, Black Buying Power was projected to reach 1.1trillion dollars!

There are 43 million Melanoid Americans in the United States, 13.7 percent of the total population. The “Black” race is the second largest racial minority in the country. The median age is 32 and 47 percent are under 35 years of age.

Despite these impressive numbers and buying power most mainstream advertisers are not inclusive. They fail to include “Black“, Melanoid people in media and marketing plans and have underestimated the market size.

If we were to reminisce to the 1900’s, a neighborhood called Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma was one of the most successful and wealthiest Melanoid communities in the United States.
Home to successful Black businessmen, affluent residents, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, hospitals, banks, libraries, schools, law offices, private airplanes and a commuter bus system.

This was “Black Wall Street“, which could be today’s blueprint for Black Economics. Black Economics is essential to the rise and power of the Melanoid People. It is cases such as Walmart’s pies and the Missouri University “Black” students protests that set the precedence for how Black communities should be operating.

During the 1900’s, in Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma, the dollar circulated 36 to 100 times, sometimes taking a year for currency to leave the community. Now a dollar leaves the Black community in 15 minutes.
This is terrifying to anyone who dreams of a better way for Melanoid people. Economic power is critical. Unfortunately, Patti Labelle’s situation is a snapshot of what happens a lot. Patti does not own the company that produces the sweet potato pies or will she profit from the success of it’s sales. Not in the manner as W. Galen Weston has. Instead her image is what is used to lure consumers.

These practices are not difficult to repeat.
What is difficult is gaining loyalty from the “Melaninated” Nations and when unity is achieved, maintaining consistency.
Above all, like the Dominant Society, the plans and actions of the Melaninated communities must be covert. The use of Social Media and other technological platforms are necessary, but with so much and many against the growth of Black Nations, stealthy actions would be vital to Black Economical Growth.

So as powerful as it is for the “Black Dollar” to circulate, it is equally as powerful for it to stall.
Weigh these thoughts when deciding what business you wish or wish not to support.

Lastly; one thing is for certain, Patti may have sold many pies but it sure ain’t better than my mama’s!

The scale of Justice seems to always be off – balance.

From the arrest process to court hearings. Many can argue that they never had a fair – day in court.
Let’s face it, America’s system of Justice, systematically is unfair to minorities. Though this article is not written to point out all of those cases, trust that one would not have a hard time in finding the disparity.

This is why it is important for people to be active and vigilant in their communities. Ensuring and demanding for actions that better serve their families and communities by way of voting and electing those that represent the “face” of the community and have a positive interest in it’s welfare.
These steps can easily tip the scale of justice, forcing changes in the current climate of the Nation’s racial and judicial injustices.

This is highlighted by the actions of a Louisville, Ky. Jefferson Circuit Court Judge; Olu Stevens.
Judge Stevens was displeased with the disproportionate number of black jurors serving in his court.

Last week, the proceedings of a drug trial were halted and the entire jury panel was dismissed. Jdg. Stevens called for a new jury group to be selected.

Jdg. Olu Stevens

Judge Stevens expressed,

The concern is that the panel is not representative of the community.

A new jury panel followed despite objections from both the defense and prosecutor.
This would not be Jdg. Stevens first time dismissing a jury because of it’s “misrepresentation” or disproportionate number of minorities.

These actions have solicited the involvement of the Supreme Court, where it is going to determine whether the judge is abusing his power.

On Nov. 18th 2014, Jdg. Stevens felt it was, “troublesome”, that a 13-member jury chosen for a theft trial ended up with no black jurors. He would dismiss the panel at the request of a defense attorney.

Judge Stevens shared,

There is not a single African-American on this jury and (the defendant) is an African-American man, I cannot in good conscious go forward with this jury.”

The next day a new jury panel was selected.

“Jefferson County has long had a problem with minorities being underrepresented on local juries. Several black defendants have complained over the years that they were convicted by an all-white jury – not of their peers.

The Racial Fairness commission – a group made up of local judges, lawyers and citizens – has studied the issue for years, monitored the make-up of jury panels and found them consistently lacking in minorities.”

As Appeals Court Judge, Denise Clayton, explains,

Based on population the panel should be at least 21 percent African-American“.

Jdg. Clayton continues, sharing a previous panel selection case (October 12, 2015), where the percentage was 14.

So we’re not really hitting the numbers that we need to…“, concluded Clayton

Jdg. Stevens, rightfully, has shaken the courts and is forcing attorneys to be responsible.
In an interesting fashion, Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and Attorney General asked the Kentucky Supreme Court to look at the issue and see if Jdg. Stevens has the authority to dismiss jury panels “because of a lack of minorities”.

Should judges take it upon themselves to try and ensure a more representative jury?

The Spice Of Life

The Spice Of Life: Turmeric

raw-ground-turmeric.jpg.653x0_q80_crop-smart

How often do you think about the foods that you put in your mouth?

Did you know that there are a lot of fruits and vegetables that can potentially improve the quality of your life and most importantly, increase the longevity of it as well?
Though delightful at times, foods main purpose is to be sustenance, “medicine“. This is the reason why it is extremely dangerous for one to not regulate and filter dangerous foods out of their diet.
Working against the people are Corporations and Government Agencies that forcefully manipulate the foods in which we eat and feed our children. Blatantly poisoning the public.
Therefore it is everyone’s responsibility to be diligent in adopting proper, healthy nutritional practices. In addition to performing, safe and effective, physical, mental and Spiritual exercises.

We can sometimes overlook simple technics and easy to obtain remedies that can rejuvenate the body, almost, over-night.
For instance; Turmeric: An Indian perennial herb, it is part of the Ginger family. This wonderful herb is associated with producing extraordinary Cardiovascular Health Benefits.
There are enough studies to support this claim, unfortunately, your average physician probably would not prescribe this over some “drug of the week“.

A study published by the American Journal Of Cardiology, found Turmeric Extracts reduced post-bypass Heart Attack risk by 56%. Along with those findings, Curcumin: The primary polyphenol in Turmeric (responsible for the spice’s yellow-brown color), is just as beneficial in improving vascular function in postmenopausal women as a moderate aerobic exercise. At no point are we saying cancel your gym membership, but clearly, the use of these supplements coupled with proper exercise can “reduce morbidity and mortality associated with cardiovascular disease“.

The areas where Turmeric and Curcumin benefit most; aiding in a healthier inner lining of the blood vessels, improving the arterial elasticity and endothelial function.
Understand that poor endothelial function is a warning for Atherosclerosis!

Information like this should make for an easy sale for one to add these two wonders to their diet and supplementing. To aide, we put a short list of other benefits to Turmeric and our latest Show; entitled, Women And Men’s Fitness: Love And Light With Goddess Yadira.

In this show we discuss the many benefits to healthy nutritional practices, the differences in benefits between men and women, countless tips for weight loss, stress and Spiritual strength.

Turmeric

  • Arthritis: Turmeric contains more than two dozen anti-inflammatory compounds.
  • Cancer Preventing: More than 200 citations (Duke) for Turmeric benefits related to cancer and more than 700 for Curcumin and cancer.
  • Indigestion/Stomach Cure: Because of Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties, it is able to stabilize the stomach acids.
  • Cardiovascular Strength: Promotes cleaner/healthier blood vessel lining and arterial elasticity.
  • Fat Burner: Great dietary aid for burning fat without the dangers associated with certain pills and “magic-diets”.
  • Prevents Alzheimer: Note that it through a supplement that one can benefit from this. One would not get enough Curcumin from regular dietary use.
  • Depression Aid Treatment: The antioxidants in Curcumin makes Turmeric the “Magic-Spice”, the antioxidant agents work similarly to antidepressants.
  • Lowers Cholesterol: *See Cardiovascular Strength*
  • Retards Aging: From the anti-inflammatory compounds that reduce redness to healing properties when applied to the skin directly!
  • Prevents Childhood Leukemia: It is particularly effective at preventing CH Leukemia. Many studies support this claim and it is mostly attributed to Curcumin.

Do you remember the incident that took place on July 09th, 2014, where Seattle resident; 69 year old, William Wingate was arrested by Seattle Police Officer Cynthia Whitlatch?

Well… “Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole signed off Tuesday (Sept.15th, 2015) on findings by the department’s Office of Professional Accountability that Whitlatch, 48, broke the department’s rules in the arrest.”
Therefore she was fired.

Seattle Police Officer Cynthia Whitlatch
Fired For Abuse Of Power

For those who have not followed this story…

SPDO Cynthia Whitlatch drove up on William Wingate, on the corner of an intersection, as he was peacefully doing nothing, using his club for support like a cane.
Whitlatch exits her cruiser immediately asking for Wingate to drop his golf club, “I am not going to take it from you but it is a weapon!”, Whitlatch claims.

Wingate questions the reason for her presence and refuses to release his club for support. Whitlatch demands that he drops the club again, she continues to inform Wingate that the entire scene is being recorded and escalates the situation by, falsely, accusing Wingate of swinging his club at her, “You just swang that club at me!” An appalled Wingate objects immediately and demands that she calls for another officer, “You call somebody I want a witness”.

“The white Seattle officer who arrested an African-American man she claimed swung a golf club at her was fired Tuesday for her racial bias and combative approach, the city’s police chief said.”

To Catch A Predator: Poachers

Despite the many accomplishments, Man has proven to be the most violent and destructive “Animal” on the planet. The abuse, waste and theft of resources around the World is astounding.

With Africa seated at the top of the list in resources in the World, it is exploited heinously by many countries and nations around the world. Increasing the wealth of these nations…without regard and prohibiting the people of this glorious continent to “eat from it’s own plate“!

So there is no surprise that Africa rates equally as high with Poaching. From animal fur, body parts, organs to highly sort after Ivory. These Poachers are responsible for the illegal killing and endangering these animal’s very existence. Take the Black Rhino; “since 1960 their population has been reduced by 97.6%“, but change is coming!

This change is delivered in a powerful package; with the support of activist in the United States, “retired vets take part in an organization that puts their years of combat training to work”, aiding the African Park Rangers. Their efforts are focused on reducing the loss and ending poaching.

The achievement will be made by VETPAW (Veterans Empowered To Protect Wildlife).

Their highlight addition is;

Kinessa Johnson: US Army Veteran.

What is Kinessa and her team’s mission in Africa? Her focus is to train the African Park Rangers in areas of marksmanship, field medicine and counter-intelligence. With 187 African Park Rangers lives lost at the hands of poachers, prior to the aide, such training is crucial to everyone’s survival and, most importantly, maintaining the safety and protection of the animals and Park Rangers.

Article: Click Here

Johnson and her team had set their sites on Tanzania, in March of 2015. After putting their plans into effect and due to their strong presence, a reduction in poaching activity was immediately noticed. This is why it was critical to train the Park Rangers and provide support.

Kinessa joined VETPAW because she loves animals, and because protecting endangered species is a cause that speaks to her heart. Kinessa explains, “After the first obvious priority of enforcing existing poaching laws, educating the locals on protecting their country’s natural resources is most important overall.”
